Joseph Lobosco, Sr began his insurance career as a State Farm Agent in 1957.
He soon realized that representing only one Carrier limited his ability to provide the choices needed to customize his client’s insurance programs in an effort to offer them the greatest value. As a result, he founded the Joseph Lobosco Agency in 1959, an Independent Insurance Agency representing several Carriers.
With the additions of sons Angelo J Lobosco and Joseph M Lobosco in 1979, the business became Joseph Lobosco and Sons, a Multi-line Agency offering all forms of insurance, including Automobile, Homeowners, Business, Life Insurance and Bonds. The Employee Benefits Department was also established, offering medical, dental, vision and disability insurance, as well as 401k retirement plans for their Business Owner clients.
In 1987 son Michael P Lobosco joined the Agency as a Life and Health Insurance specialist.
With the purchase of The Edward A. Connelly Agency in 1998, the firm became known as Lobosco Insurance Group, LLC. Mr. Connelly and his staff joined the firm at that time.

The Commercial Lines Department consists of 5 analysts and 3 producers. Our commercial lines staff is licensed and responsive. It includes a former Insurance Company Commercial Lines Manager along with over 125 years of combined insurance expertise.
The Personal Lines Staff consists of 10 licensed CSR’s and 3 support workers. Our office is an Independent Agency and currently represents numerous insurance companies. The Personal Lines Department processes hundreds of calls daily and takes pride in their servicing abilities.
We also maintain a dedicated Claims and Bookkeeping Department.
We are a full service agency concentrating on Commercial & Personal Lines Insurance, Bonds, Life & Group Health Insurance.
Our target markets, geographically, include New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. We do however, write business in Pennsylvania. The majority of our clients are from Passaic, Bergen, Essex, Sussex and Morris Counties.
We pride ourselves in our service, integrity and accountability. We are a “hands-on” agency, believing the more an insurance company understands the client, the more beneficial we can be to their needs.”
